Ray-freecaster, it's now 701 purchases. I was going to purchase a couple of hours before the race but your message was a call to arms for me. If each race attracts 100,000 viewers online does it make the streaming viable at $2-$3 per race? I for one am willing to pay $20-$40 per race for two hours of viewing and Robs commentary.
It's six months until next season starts and I'm hoping an appropriate outcome is achieved between now and then. I'd hate to return to the days when I got into MTB (around 1997) when seeing World Cup footage was a fantasy. The service Freecaster has provided has been fantastic and I'm immensely grateful. What Freecaster has done for the accessibility of viewing MTB racing cannot be under estimated, and to those complaining about a fee, you don't know what you got until it's gone. Thankyou Ray and the team at Freecaster, I'm extremely appreciative :)
Totally agree. In Australia if the sport is not in the Olympics then funding is limited if any, might be the same in Canada. At least we still have synchronised swimming, tennis, basketball and soccer all receiving funding and the last three sports ridiculously over paid for what they do.
Mate, I Could not agree with you more. I was fortunate enough to see the World Champs in Canberra and the speed at which these guys ride is mind blowing, freaks.
Sean, top work on the vid as usual.
Yes the silence is deafening. I knew he would get some good results but what he has achieved this year has gone far beyond my expectations. Scary to think his body is still very immature compared to some of the other juniors. All the top juniors though (Brannigan, Buchanan) are all bloody quick so the future of DH is in good hands.
I don't know whay sweaty socks like Domino0 are so cranky about Troy, give the kid a break. Once his body matures he'll be a senior world champ in the future.
Is that why Troy beat Lewis at Maribor and now Ft William? You can talk about "would have" scenarios but the fact is he did crash and that's part of racing, fast + no crash = podium. They are both extremely fast juniors who will be challenging the top 10 in a few years time.
Troy is a super quick and smooth rider, just wait when he starts to build strength as he's a whippet at the moment. His results in Australia at a comparative age to Hill, Rennie and Kovarik have surpassed what they had achieved.
Regarding promotion Specialized is probably a larger magnet for the media attention but that means the other teams just need to work more, it's not that hard to work out.
I'll start warming up some humbe pie for you all when you see his results this year, hope your hungry as you'll be eating a lot. About Us
